Polyurethane is a sort of plastic with the following general technical properties:
- Large adaptability in design and size
- Hardwearing and durable, resistant to durable heavy impacts and strokes
- Easy to mix with other materials, such as concrete, stainless steel, steel, cast iron, aluminium
- Resistant to certain grease and oil types and to certain chemicals and UV-radiation
- Shock and sound absorbing
- Heat-resisting within the range -30 °C to 70 °C, for a short time up to 100 °C
- Polyurethane is flexible and elastic
- Electric insulating
- Scratch resistant
- Resists high pressure load
- Good deformation properties (compessionsset)
Combination of characteristics
The properties can be combined in many ways depending of the load that the polyurethane item is subjected to.
Polyurethane can be applied with great advantage in cases where high demands are put on the components with regard to reliability and durability through:

Colours and varius qualities
Polyurethane can be produced in selected colours according to the RAL scale and the polyurethane item can be produced in all possible forms and sizes.
Polyurethane is also available in approved qualities for application in connection with foodstuff pursuant to FDA-CFR 177.2600.
Polyurethane is in some cases called PUR, hardened plastic, elastomer, polyurethane plastic, polyurethane rubber, urethane rubber or just polyuretane.
